Cities

The research is conducted in the three major European cities that feature ethnic club cultures dominated by different immigrant groups: London, Paris and Berlin. The cities are chosen because of their differential national embeddedness, their metropolitan status, and the prevalence of respective migrant groups
from the Caribbean, Turkey and South Asia. Each city will provide the context for an ethnographic case study. Research staff will spend two periods of six months conducting fieldwork in their respective city.
